Da Capo Arias. What Are They? Da Capo Arias
Oh, sing to me, muse, the truth of your melodious art.
And then sing it to me again,
But with more stuff in it.
Everything that has a beginning has an end.
There is no force that can alter what has started:
We must all bow to the inexorable demands of the Da Capo aria.
Though we may have other emotions to express, maybe even other words we wish to say, nevertheless,
It is our duty to adhere to the structures imposed on us from above.
We must do what is right.
Just imagine if we were to abandon established convention and give in to our flawed human desires….
Everything would change!
There would be no going back. Literally, we wouldn’t be going back to the start anymore.
But what if a da capo aria did not, in fact, da Capo? What if the music just…went on? Would that even be possible?
There would be no going back. Literally, we wouldn’t be going back to the start anymore.
Everything would change!
Just imagine if we were to abandon established convention and give in to our flawed human desires….
We must do what is right.
It is our duty to adhere to the structures imposed on us from above.
Though we may have other emotions to express, maybe even other words we wish to say, nevertheless,
We must all bow to the inexorable demands of the Da Capo aria.
There is no force that can alter what has started:
Everything that has a beginning has an end.
Oh, sing to me, muse, the truth in your melodious art.
And then sing it to me again after a short, contrasting break
but with a lot more amazing, interesting stuff in it, so that it’s like the first time but different.
